Munoz Johnson
Chiropractor (DC)

Dr. Elna Muñoz Johnson is a graduate of the University of British Columbia: Kinesiology; from the University of Western States: Doctor of Chiropractic; and has completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University. In addition to her degrees, she is an Instructor and Certified Provider of Active Release Techniques (ART). Dr. Muñoz Johnson’s extensive athletic background as a sprint hurdler and the numerous injuries she endured throughout that time, has led her to focus her career on sports injuries, prevention, treatment, and performance.

Dr Muñoz Johnson has worked with numerous professional athletes in the NFL, CFL, and NHL, as well as with athletes on various Provincial, National and Olympic Teams. She has also worked and consulted on various professional sports teams such as the BC Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Athletics Canada. She is presently the Chiropractor of the UBC Football and UBC Track & Field teams. Dr. Muñoz Johnson has also been given the unique opportunity to work on numerous film and television productions, which has led to her working closely with several actors/actresses, producers, performers, and stunt men/women on a number of sets throughout the years. Dr. Muñoz Johnson’s dedication to athletes is not her sole focus. She takes great pride and enjoyment in using her expertise and experience from the sports arena, and provides the same level of care and attention to all of her patients. Dr. Muñoz Johnson is very fortunate to be working with a number of professionals at Optimal Performance that enables her to implement a team approach to patient care when needed. Her main objective is to always provide a treatment plan that will provide every patient the best and most rapid recovery.
