Physiotherapist (PT)

Joelle Karam graduated with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. Prior to her Masters she received an Honours Degree in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program from McMaster University. Joelle is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and an Executive Member of the Ontario Section of the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Her professional experiences include several years of work in private practice and sport medicine clinics. Outside of the clinic setting she has worked with the University of Toronto’s varsity volleyball and soccer teams while on clinical internship, the Skate Canada medical coverage team, the Toronto Dragons Rugby Club, the Streetsville Derby’s Junior A Hockey Team and the Stouffville Clippers Bantam AA Hockey team.

Joelle has taken several post-graduate courses to develop her physiotherapy skills. More recently she has received her Level 3 Manual and Manipulative Therapy certifications. She has successfully completed the McMaster Contemporary Acupuncture Program, as well as many courses within the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute, which includes the latest evidence on neck, low back, pelvis and shoulder dysfunction assessment and treatment. She has also taken several courses on core restoration, sport and therapeutic taping, and continues to pursue further education to advance her skills.

Joelle’s passion lies in helping individuals regain function and pursue an active and healthy lifestyle. She believes that this can be achieved by working with each client towards their individual goals and combining education, manual therapy, active rehabilitation and therapeutic modalities to meet these goals.
